Assessment

We have developed an innovative approach which is significantly more engaging for participants and leads to greater motivation and application of learning, compared to traditional assessment centres/processes. Our approach is based on research and best practice. It provides the following particular benefits:

  • Rigorous, objective assessment that is experienced in a positive and non-threatening way, whatever participants' previous experiences. This enables participants to relax and demonstrate their strengths so they have greater ownership of assessment outcomes, as well as building their confidence and commitment to undertake new roles or further development post the assessment process.
  • Everyone's unique strengths and style are fairly assessed, utilising our strong track record in equality and diversity. We encourage participants to draw on their unique experiences and resources to demonstrate their capability, to have confidence in who they are and to develop their own style. We objectively and consistently assess individual capability starting with what people can do, valuing the diverse ways in which this capability is revealed.
  • Participants leave our assessment centres/processes with greater self-awareness, confidence and ability to manage their ongoing development. Our assessors are not just highly trained observers, they are also experienced coaches and learning facilitators who are skilled in giving and eliciting high quality and focused feedback. We help participants gain insights into the beliefs, attitudes and preferences that underpin their behaviour, which is key if they are to make lasting and real behavioural changes which positively impact on their performance.

Our clients particularly value our ability to identify flexible and creative ways of applying best practice to meet their practical and commercial realities. They appreciate our honesty and challenge because it is balanced with a genuine determination to develop a tailored solution that is fit for purpose and which optimises the use of their available resources.   We make best use of the latest and most valid/reliable psychometrics as appropriate, as we are not aligned with any particular publisher.

While we design and deliver assessment and development centres aimed at specific target audiences, we also conduct individual assessment where we work with clients to assess/select a (typically) senior individual through a tailored process. We work to understand the background, objectives and criteria against which the individual is to be assessed and identify the most accurate, practical and cost-effective assessment process. Our written reports identify appropriate follow-up actions, including suggested development areas and issues to explore at subsequent stages in the selection process.
