Talent Management
Talent Management Programme
We are currently working with the a public sector organisation on the design and co-facilitation of a high profile Talent Management Programme for all Grade 7 Managers. We are working closely with HR and senior management on the development of evaluation criteria and innovative methodologies that will add value to the development process itself, as well as enabling monitoring of learning outcomes for both the business and individuals.
The development programme uses a range of learning approaches, designed to ensure that development is closely linked to the leadership priorities of both the organisation and individual managers. The programme comprises two workshops with three facilitated learning sets that work as a peer group, providing support and challenge on personal leadership objectives.
After attending the programme, the participants reported the following outcomes:
“In what was a hostile partnering relationship, we have now developed it to be a more open and collaborative one. I would never have taken that step without the input of the workshop and the increased confidence I have gained from the programme.”
“The 360 and working groups have allowed me to stop and think more broadly about what I do.”
“I came away from our last meeting feeling really motivated and energized. It improved my confidence and the suggestion from the group about how best to represent myself and what I had to bring were really helpful.”
High Potential Development Programme
BCL is working with a European manufacturing organisation to identify and develop high potential leaders and managers. This initiative represents a significant part of the organisation’s strategy to develop its leadership capability across a diverse group of organisations. In addition to designing and delivering the programme, our work has included discussions with key stakeholders in order to gain buy-in to the project. The data from these discussions has informed the design of the programme, design of a nomination process and working with stakeholders to identify strategic projects and sponsors.
The programme objectives are to further develop participants’ ability to think and act strategically and to lead the business commercially as well as leading individuals and teams. It also manages risk, innovation and high profile projects, encourages collaborative working and helps participants learn about leadership through working on real strategic issues. During the programme, participants are exposed to working with top management, group initiatives and strategy development processes and also benefit from the opportunity to build personal networks which encourages cross Europe working.
Outcomes from the programme to date have included identifying high potential managers and improved cross working, cross selling and sharing of best practice across Hitachi European Companies. Extra sales so far as a result of cross selling have been identified as £300k.
