Mike Robinson

Mike has broad experience from 20 years in consultancy, and now specialises in the areas of procurement, performance improvement and business change.

He initially held line management posts in Ford Motor Company and The Mars Group before training as a consultant with Ernst & Young, where he worked on strategic purchasing, manufacturing and supply chain reviews. More recently he has concentrated on procurement projects, particularly PPP/PFI and has an excellent track record of achieving performance improvements through a wide range of techniques. He has regularly presented at and chaired conferences and seminars internationally on procurement and partnering.

Mike has directed a large number of projects in both public and private sectors, including major re-alignment of organisations to meet budgetary pressures, overhead cost reduction projects, large management development programmes and outsourcing projects. He has also led a number of important change projects aimed at fundamentally assessing the purpose and structure of an organisation, then improving it through a combination of process re-engineering, re-organisation, outsourcing, leadership development and team building.

A skilled presenter and facilitator, Mike has wide ranging experience in designing, developing and delivering development programmes to diverse audiences. Subjects range from procurement, business process improvement, cost reduction techniques, project management, partnering and managing supplier relationships.
