You may face complex challenges or a major transition. A piecemeal approach risks tackling the symptoms without addressing the underlying causes or potential change-blockers: this can prove ineffectual, wasting time and cost, as well as causing frustration in the organisation. It requires a more integrated or holistic response, bringing together the appropriate mix of skills in a programme designed with you to address your particular circumstances.

We believe we bring our very best value when we combine elements from our three core service areas to help ensure that organisational structure is fit for purpose, individuals and teams are given the necessary learning and development and effective processes and systems are in place to support delivery of the desired results. Motivated by shared vision and values and a sense of common purpose, your organisation is then equipped, empowered and energised to deliver sustainable success.

Through a variety of interventions we can help you:

  • Explore different possibilities
  • Increase organisational momentum
  • Face challenge and change with confidence
  • Secure tangible and sustainable benefits

The diagram illustrates an example of how by drawing on the full range of Berkshire expertise we can work through the phases of a transformation cycle, from the initial phase of helping define the level of organisational aspiration and appetite, moving on to identify the resources required to realise various possible futures. This may involve releasing existing, possibly under-utilised resources from other commitments, identifying latent talent or acquiring additional resources. These then have to be aligned and mobilised behind a vision of the future that creates sufficient organisational momentum to ensure the initiatives do not run out of steam.

Your organisation may need to develop new ways of working, adopt new behaviours and acquire new skills in order to implement the programme successfully: your people require not just the appropriate competences but also the confidence to to apply them, gained through practical challenges, the opportunity to practise in a safe environment and supported by coaching on both technical and behavioural aspects. These can then be applied and honed on a variety of value-adding projects led by your team members that build towards the desired future. The projects are phased to fit in with the priorities of the business, and coordinated and monitored through a central programme office, to ensure the overall objectives and delivery of benefits remain on target.

  • Berkshire has worked in a really integrated and collaborative way with their Lean, Learn, Lead approach, coaching our senior leaders and managers, developing staff at all levels, and supporting us to create the environment where organisational change has been rapidly accepted and leaner ways of working have been implemented, without any interruption to our service to stakeholders.

  • “Berkshire have supported us since 2015 with a) developing specific interventions (e.g. behavioural assessments) which prepare our teams for client facing situations and b) improving our internal capability.  Berkshire bring a wealth of experience from both the project execution and behavioural science world which has been invaluable for a Construction and Project Management organisation like ourselves. The greatest benefit is being able to tap into a pool of associates who can tailor and adapt to our needs whether it be coaching, programme design & delivery or general consulting on organisational change.  Their flexible and collaborative style of working differs from other firms we have used in the past.”  Akin Belo- Organisation Development Manager
