90% of organisations have been affected by the current economic climate because of decreasing revenue, downsizing and cutbacks. Whilst outplacement has traditionally been employed by the private sector, we know from our current experience of working in the public sector that the increasing budget cuts and constraints means redundancy is now a real possibility for many. This will be a difficult and challenging period for all – for those who make the redundancy announcements, those being made redundant and for the ‘survivors’.

Despite increasingly constrained financial circumstances, organisations gain real value from offering Outplacement support to their employees with improvements seen in morale, motivation, productivity, retention, and employer reputation. For those made redundant, Outplacement provides the support, challenge and tools required to begin an effective job search and move on.

Why BCL?

Our integrated Outplacement service is highly bespoke and flexible to meet the high quality of individual attention needed at times that can be personally de-stabilising and have severe knock-on effects for organisational performance. To achieve this BCL works in partnership with specialist Outplacement providers – Abintegro, Credo, Penna and Sprint Outplacement Services Ltd. This partnership brings together a variety of areas of specialism which allows us to offer a holistic, effective and flexible Outplacement service that provides great value.

Our Outplacement partnership together have:

• Worked extensively with managers equipping them to manage change and embed it, deliver ‘difficult’ messages and to develop their coaching capabilities
• High levels of capability and experience in supporting people undergoing career transition and practical expertise to support people in their job search
• The resources and team in place to quickly put a programme into effect understanding that people need access to support that is instant.

This partnership combines outplacement expertise and vast experience of working across the public and private sector so we feel we are well placed to support during this current period of change and transition.

Our integrated offering can be used holistically, or drawn on partially by clients allowing flexibility to meet different needs and budgets.
