We have designed and delivered award winning leadership programmes, having won a Gold and Bronze award at the 2014 Training Journal Awards for the Best Public Sector Leadership Programme for the ‘Accelerate’ Programme at the National Offender Management Service (NOMS). This follows our Gold and Silver wins from 2013 for our work with the Health Foundation with Yorkshire and Humberside NHS Trust. Our Global Leadership Development Programme for RSA Group won the 2010 CIPD Award for Organisational Learning.
Prior to winning both Gold and Bronze in 2014 our ‘Accelerate to’ programme had been shortlisted twice for national awards. The initiative, running since 2003, is aimed at developing BME and disabled senior managers across the National Offender Management Service.
The Learning and Development Programme designed for RSA Group won the 2010 CIPD Award for Organisational Learning. Judges were impressed by our highly innovative solution, robust metrics.
We were the winner of the ‘Supplier of the year’ award, as well as the award for ‘Best Collaboration on a project’ at the Home Office awards. These awards related directly to a performance improvement programme, which delivered a return on investment of some 5:1.
Over the years we have earned professional accreditation from key industry bodies, attesting to our commitment to quality. In addition, our consultants are individual members of organisations such as the Institute of Directors, the Association of Project Managers, the Organisational Development Network and the RSA.
BCL is a Premier Certified Practice that is recognised by the Institute of Consulting (IC) for the highest standards of professionalism and competence. The Practice agrees to abide by the IC’s Code of Practice and has a significant number of consultants who are Certified Management Consultants (CMC®). There are only 13 certified registered consultancy organisations currently in the UK and we are proudly one of those.
Many of our consultants are accredited individually as Full Members of the Association for Coaching (AC). BCL is also a Corporate Member of the AC. This demonstrates evidence of the training, skills and experience our consultants bring to their work with individuals and teams as Executive Coaches.
We have achieved this award since 1996 and consistently received excellent feedback from the Investors in People (IiP) external assessors on our culture, our development ethos/practice and our induction process. BCL was one of the first companies in the UK to be assessed against the enhanced standards for IiP at their launch in 2002.

The close alignment of objectives with corresponding results was impressive and BCL’s on-going impact data proved the worth of this initiative.Judge at the Training Journal Award for ‘Best Public Sector Training Programme
Expectations were high from the outset and the programme management team and facilitation team exceeded our expectations throughout. The programme design was tailored specifically to meet the needs of our leaders and was delivered in such a way that engaged and inspired our participants. The content was finely balanced with evidence based content as well as tons of opportunities to apply participants learning back in to the workplace. Their passion for OD shone through and this resonated strongly with our audience which resulted in 100% of our participants rating the quality of the facilitators delivery style and content very good or excellent.
Behind the scenes, the programme management team were exceptional. Responsive, highly professional, friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. We received regular progress reports on how the programme was developing and they were always available to offer support and guidance. They made our lives easy and it felt like a true partnership – an absolute pleasure to work with.Anna O’Kane, NHS East Midlands Leadership Academy
